During the week-long Spring Festival holiday that started on January 21, the city’s nine scenic spots at or above the national 4A level received more than 1.19 million visits, with the sales volume reaching 140 million yuan, up 11.11 percent from the figure in 2019 before the COVID-19 pandemic struck.
Tianmu Lake, Dinosaur Park, Oriental Salt Lake Resort, Changzhou Museum, and many other iconic tourist attractions welcomed the return of tourists with a variety of festive activities.
Many hotels and restaurants said their footfalls and revenues have largely returned to pre-COVID-19 levels, while some hailed an all-time high.
The city also hosted a shopping carnival and promoted it with coupons and sales.
